The name “Hinata” means “place in the sun”. It can be written with the same kanji as her family name “Hyūga” (日向).

Hinata’s daughter Himawari possess the Byakugan; it is uncertain at this point however, if her son Boruto possesses the same ability.
(During a 2010 interview, Kishimoto stated that many who work with him have told him Hinata is more of a heroine than Sakura.)
